Choose The Hard Exercises

When you're faced with a decision of which movement to perform — A or B — pick the harder one.

The exercises which force you to work the hardest and concentrate the most, are the best ones for you.

These generally include the tough exercises.

The ones you “don’t like” doing or you (currently) suck at.

Squats, push-ups, deadlifts, chin-ups, Turkish get-ups and challenging core work.

This is where you might have to change the exercises you do when you train, to get better results.

You may like doing exercises which make you "feel the burn" or inflate your ego.

Exercises like bicep curls, ab crunches or tricep kickbacks.

While they may feel good in the moment, they won’t build the most strength…

…and it doesn't necessarily mean they're the best exercise choice for you.

People like doing, and tend to stick to the easy exercises.

Why? I'm not quite sure.

Here's what you must know about lifting weights and becoming strong.

Resistance training, by definition: "To overcome an external load or resistance".

Think about this for a second.

  • Why would you want to make a strength exercise easier?

  • Why would you want to REDUCE the level of resistance?

This is literally defeating the purpose of what you are trying to accomplish.

By decreasing the resistance, or making something easier, you are reducing your results and slowing down your rate of progress.

Building strength requires resistance — this is non-negotiable.

If you want better results, and faster...

...I urge you to choose the hardest exercises, NOT the easiest ones.

Don't pick the exercises you want to do, pick the ones you need to do!
