Member Of The Month (October)

After the mammoth month of September, which saw my now-wife and I get married and then go on our honeymoon, it is back to announcing the newest FullaSC Member Of The Month (MOTM).

I'm happy to report that the recipient of this award is one of our newer members and it's important to note how much progress she has made in such a short amount of time.

She has been training with me twice per week, as well as performing regular sessions on her own, which is vital for her goals. Training only twice a week just wouldn't suffice - so that's a credit to her work ethic and consistency.

The winner of the award for October is, Sharon Morris.

Fulla Strength and Conditioning

Sharon reached out via my website in early August, inquiring about some 1-on-1 training to help her reach her goals.

After her initial session, Sharon has been regularly coming in for training sessions and knew early on that I do things a little differently to what she was used to. This has turned out to be a good thing!

Mixing my training style with her growth mindset has allowed Sharon to learn quickly and make very fast progress!

Sharon's strength levels just keep going up!

Sharon's strength levels just keep going up!

Some key highlights of Sharon's training so far:

  • Lifting heavier weights each and every week

  • Started my 12-week rowing program (Just completed Wk 7)
  • Learning correct technique for squats, deadlifts, bench press and about 9 different plank variations
  • Understands the nuances of different training styles

I recently caught up with Sharon and conducted a short interview with her so that she could elaborate on her training and journey with us so far. You can read that below:

Q1- WHEN DID YOU FIRST START TRAINING WITH FULLA SC (MONTH/YEAR)?

A- Haha, I cant remember. About 3 months ago?

Q2- WHAT KEEPS BRINGING YOU BACK?

A- I know Jesse will push me in ways I don’t when I train without him. This has led to progression of fitness and strength that wouldn't be possible without his encouragement. I'm learning my limits are not where I think they are - I’m stronger than I realise, which is a great feeling.

Q3- WHAT RESULTS HAVE YOU ACHIEVED SO FAR?

A- Strength and balance. My core, glutes and upper body are so much stronger. Muscle definition is becoming more pronounced too, which I love.

Q4- WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 3 MONTHS (IN TERMS OF RESULTS)?

A- Continuing to increase weight numbers and consequently strength, which will lead to bigger muscles. In 3 months I’ll be buff :)

Q5- WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT THE SERVICES PROVIDED AT FULLA SC?

A- I have so much trust in Jesse. He is excellent at reading you, at knowing when you can push further even if you think you can’t, and all within a context of safe form. His ability to change routines to accommodate injuries is awesome too. We always have a laugh and I feel great after each session.

Sharon is happy to listen, learn and then apply that knowledge each and every week, which was one of the key reasons I thought she would be a worthy winner.

She is also starting to grasp that training should be challenging, but, sessions don't always have to be long. Some of her best finishers (the workout after her strength exercises) have been very short in duration.

This training intensity, coupled with her consistency and small nutritional adjustments will hold her in good stead moving forwards.

Once again, congratulations for months of hard work Sharon. I know that you won't rest on your laurels and will continue to train hard and push that sled!

Until next time,

Keep training hard!
