Member Of The Month (February)

February has come and gone and we have now stepped into March 2018. This year is just flying by!!

Our article today is about showcasing and celebrating the latest recipient of our Member Of The Month (MOTM) award.

The winner of this month's award is someone who I've known for many years and I've been privileged enough to have taken through countless training sessions.

Introducing the MOTM for February, Kirsty Lightfoot.

Fulla Strength and Conditioning

Kirsty is someone who is prepared to listen, learn and put 100% into whatever it is she's doing - even if it's new, or challenging.

She is a determined person and is truly prepared to find the best possible solution for her needs and lifestyle.

Just recently, she got a new addition to the family, with a fur baby named Bailey. Needless to say, there were some sleepless nights, early mornings and tough times, but she (and Bailey) have worked through them and have both adjusted to the new circumstances.

That's what I really admire about Kirsty. She is always happy to give something a go, try it out and make any changes necessary to improve what is needed.

It's not always an easy thing to do and I see a lot of people struggle to rebound after situations like that, but Kirsty really has a willingness to keep moving forward.

I took some time to do a short interview with Kirsty so she could share her experience and fitness journey with us. You can view that below.

Q1- WHEN DID YOU FIRST START TRAINING WITH FULLA SC (MONTH/YEAR)?

A- November 2016

Q2- WHAT KEEPS BRINGING YOU BACK?

A- The tailored training, care, advice and challenges. FullaSC takes time to plan out fantastic training that allows me to challenge and improve my strength and fitness,  learn the best techniques and new ways to train. Also the ability to connect with other members and the motivation FullaSC gives is invaluable.

Q3- WHAT RESULTS HAVE YOU ACHIEVED SO FAR?

A- I came to FullaSC with some injuries and mobility issues after an Oxfam hike because I knew the focus of training is quality over smashing out reps recklessly. Now my movement, flexibility and posture is better than ever. I'm the strongest I've ever been and my fitness keeps increasing. I was able to complete the Spartan Sprint in 2017 and I can't wait to do more courses and challenges.

Q4- WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 3 MONTHS (IN TERMS OF RESULTS)?

A- I will be at my ideal weight. I'm hoping to focus on upper body strength and core strength - so I would like to be stronger in those areas and have further increased flexibility in my hamstrings. I'm always looking to increase my fitness, too.

Q5- WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT THE SERVICES PROVIDED AT FULLA SC?

A- I really enjoy the focus on technique and learning how to do exercises I've never done before. I also enjoy the articles, support and information FullaSC provides. I'm always finding out new things to make healthy living and strength training more sustainable. Finally, I enjoy training that allows me to push myself to new levels but have fun and a good laugh as well.

I feel like the simple approach that we use is one of the reasons why Kirsty has been so successful recently.

She has been a part of our small group training environment from the beginning and has been working hard on developing strength, progressing each week and also being exposed to new exercises every 4 weeks.

This combination has enabled her to learn new exercises, improve them and challenge herself slightly more each week.

She has also been tracking her nutrition and making exercise outside of our sessions a regular fixture, with some nice benefits there, too!

Congratulations, Kirst! You're a thoroughly deserving winner.

Until next time,

Keep pushing forward.
